Inspiration is provided by the heritage buildings, colourful flora and fauna on the campus

Numerous famous painters have painted on the spot in the presence of students. These include MF Hussain and Paresh Maity

These paintings are part of the School repertoire.

Students learn sketching, painting, sculpture making, pottery, photography, screen printing, clay modelling, ceramics, wood carving, carpet weaving, recycled paper making, art conservation and development.

Workshop on Wash Painting at Mayo College

The Department of Fine Art & Crafts, Mayo College, organized a ‘Wash Painting’ workshop from 9th to 12th May 2023 at the B. C. Gue Art School in its historical campus. The workshop was conducted by renowned artist and former professor, Mr. Apurba Sengupta, an alumnus of the Government College of Art and Craft (GCAC), Kolkata. He vividly demonstrated the wash painting technique, pioneered by Abanindranath Tagore, founder of the Bengal School.

The four-day workshop fostered creativity and artistic revival, offering valuable insights to art teachers and senior fine art students of Ajmer. This initiative by Mayo College serves as an important step in mentoring future and present artists, enriching the artistic community beyond the institution.

Camel Art Camp

Mayo College, in collaboration with Camlin Art Foundation, hosted an open-air art camp from December 7-11, 2023. Around 80 art students from the north zone participated, creating paintings inspired by Mayo College. The camp aimed to foster creativity, with Mayo College students actively joining in. Renowned artist Padma Shri Tilak Gitai and Professor Vishwanath Sable from Sir J.J. School of Art graced the event, delivering lectures and demonstrations.
