Human Centric CoE of Robotics & AI

Vision

To foster a new generation of innovators and thought leaders in AI and Robotics, deeply rooted in ethical principles and driven by a commitment to addressing global challenges. Our vision is to empower students with cutting-edge knowledge and compassionate wisdom, inspiring them to leverage technology in creating sustainable solutions for societal issues, including the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We envision a world where technology acts as a catalyst for positive change, enhancing human capabilities and addressing critical issues such as poverty, hunger, and climate change.

Mission

Our mission is to provide an enriching educational experience in AI and Robotics to students from the 10th to 12th standard, integrating a strong ethical framework inspired by ancient wisdom, including teachings from the Vedas and Upanishads. We are committed to inspiring and equipping young minds with the skills and ethical understanding necessary to utilize AI in solving real-world problems. Through a blend of cutting-edge technology education, hands-on projects, and an emphasis on human-centric solutions, we aim to cultivate responsible citizens who will lead the charge in using AI for societal betterment. Collaborating with industry experts, ethical leaders, and global thinkers, we will ensure our students are future-ready and motivated to use their knowledge for the greater good.

New Phase- II Vision not only envisaged to bring next level step change but also aims to inspire and stimulate a ‘Human-centered approach’ in Robotics & AI Education.

The above shloka imbibes this essence and value system and is in well sync with the Mayo College motto of ‘Let there be Light’ established way back in 1875.

Excerpt from speech

Human-Centric Approach: It is not enough to teach AI in isolation; we must emphasize a human-centric approach. Our students need to understand how AI can benefit humanity and contribute to societal progress.

I firmly believe that establishing a Human-Centric Center of Excellence in AI within our school is not just an option; it is a imperative. It is an investment in our students' future, equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and values required to excel in a world where AI is omnipresent.

I do believe that Mayo College is an Institution which is grooming leaders in all domains of public & private life and thus it is important for this to be a part of their education.
