THE ANNUAL PRIZE GIVING FUNCTION

 The 126^th Prize Giving function was celebrated in Mayo College on February 20 and February 21, 2010.

On 20^th February 2010, the celebrations started with the exhibitions in Junior and Senior School. The Arpeggios performed at the Contemplation Ground, their songs ranging from Indi-Pop to Rock and some of their own compositions which was liked by one and all. 

The Junior School students enacted an English Play “The Jungle Book” that was well attended and enjoyed by everyone.

Senior & Junior School students performed in the Polo Ground that included:

a.       Horse Riding Show

b.      Yoga

c.       Aerobics

d.      Show Jumping

The exhibition Polo match between the two teams of present boys (Mayo A & Mayo B) was a huge attraction.

On 21^st February 2010, at 2.30 p.m. the main Prize Giving function was held at the Bikaner Pavilion. HH Maharaja Gaj Singh of Jodhpur, President Mayo College General Council presided over the function and gave away the prizes and then addressed the gathering.

The class of 1966-67 had instituted an award in the memory of Late Mr.JTM Gibson and the following personalities were awarded the JTM Gibson Award for Excellence-2009:

1.      Justice Kamaljit Singh Garewal (1963 Batch)

2.      Mr.Jyoti Krishan Dutt (1966 Batch)

3.      Professor Sirajul Hasan (1966 Batch)

4.      Mr.Vikram Singh Mehta (1968 Batch)

The Prize Giving Function concluded with the recital of National Anthem.
